The floors

A map of the spa, in the order you walk it

Six places, from the front hall to the kitchen. Take them in any order and stay as long as your entry lasts.

  • The front hall

Shoes off, locker key, uniform and towel. Kyungsook and the front hall team greet you here, and the kitchen is beside it.

  • The bathing areas

Women's and men's baths are separate, each with showers, warm and cool tubs and a seat to rest between. Bathing is unclothed, as at spas in Korea.

  • The scrub room

Two tables, a wall shower and a therapist who explains each step. Booked ahead, or ask at the front hall.

  • The heat rooms

The wood-fired Brazier, the charcoal Dome, the salt room and a cool room to step into between them. The uniform is worn here.

  • The rest floor

A warm floor of woven mats with wooden headrests, shared by everyone in the uniform. Lie down, talk quietly, or sleep.

  • The kitchen

Korean dishes, tea and cold barley water at low tables. Eat in the uniform, and stay as long as your entry lasts.

Rules

Six rules that keep the floors comfortable

Most are what you would guess. The rules page says what to wear in each room.

  • Shoes stay in the front hall; slippers are for the floors.
  • Shower before the baths, and again before the heat rooms.
  • The uniform is worn on every shared floor, and the baths are unclothed.
  • Voices stay low on the rest floor and in the heat rooms.
  • Phones stay in the locker, and no photos anywhere inside.
  • Leave a hot room when you feel dizzy or unwell, and drink water.

The shared rooms

Everyone in the same uniform

The heat rooms, the rest floor and the kitchen are shared by women, men, families and groups. We give everyone the same top and shorts, so nobody is looking at anyone else's clothes.

Sizes run from small to extra large, and the baths stay separate.

  • Top, shorts, towel and locker key at the front hall

  • The same uniform for every guest, every age

  • Families and groups together on the rest floor
